Purpose of Policy

This Carbon Reduction Policy outlines JobsLink (UK) Ltd - Trading As (T/A) Vigilance Care

Services’ approach to minimising our carbon output and working towards achieving net

zero emissions by 2050.

It aligns with the legal requirements of the following legislation:

• Climate Change Act 2008

• The Health and Social Care Act 2008 (Regulated Activities) Regulations 2014

Scope

This policy applies to:

• All employees, including those designated as temporary, bank staX, agency staX,

volunteers, and those on work experience.

Objectives

The objectives of this policy are:

• To ensure compliance with legislation and regulations.

• To reduce carbon emissions produced by our business operations.

• To ensure good governance in environmental sustainability.

• To encourage employees to identify and suggest ways to reduce carbon emissions.

Policy Statement

As a provider of domiciliary and social care services, JobsLink (UK) Ltd - Trading As (T/A)

Vigilance Care Services acknowledges the environmental impact of our operations. We are committed to sustainable development and to reducing our carbon footprint. We will strive to:

•Reduce or eliminate environmentally damaging activities.

• Promote environmentally sustainable practices.

Our Commitment:

People

• Engage staX in environmental responsibility.

• Encourage staX suggestions for carbon reduction.

• Support clients in adopting environmentally sustainable habits.

Business Operations

• Conduct virtual meetings to reduce travel emissions.

• Use electronic documentation and training materials.

• Integrate sustainability into organisational governance.

• Conduct environmental audits.

Property

• Use energy-eXicient heating systems.

• Minimise energy and water consumption.

• Choose sustainable options during repairs and maintenance.

Facilities

• Dispose of waste responsibly.

• Promote recycling (including staX uniforms).

• Use biodegradable and reusable products.

• Limit consumables and paper usage.

Vehicles and Travel

• Use vehicles meeting emission standards.

• Promote car sharing, public transport, walking, and cycling where possible.

• Comply with national clean air zone standards.

Procurement

• Choose suppliers with reduced packaging.

• Incorporate Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) and environmental sustainability in procurement evaluations.

All concerns regarding environmental sustainability must be reported to the Registered Manager. The Director and the Registered Manager are accountable for governance and

compliance with this policy.

Procedure

Carbon Output Concerns

StaX must report any concerns about carbon emissions or environmental sustainability to the Registered Manager. These concerns will be thoroughly investigated and addressed, with feedback provided.

Employee Suggestions

All suggestions for improving carbon eXiciency are encouraged. The Registered Manager will assess feasibility and provide feedback.

Environmental Audits

Environmental audits will be completed by the Registered Manager, who will also oversee the implementation of recommended improvements.

Roles and Responsibilities

All Staff:

• Follow the Carbon Reduction Policy.

• Report sustainability concerns.

• OXer suggestions for reducing carbon emissions.

Registered Manager:

• Implement and oversee this policy.

• Identify and use sustainable resources.

• Investigate concerns and implement actions.

• Review staX suggestions.

• Complete and act on Environmental Audits.

• Maintain governance of carbon reduction strategies.

Nominated Individual / Provider:

• Oversee organisational responsibility for carbon reduction and sustainability.

Breaches of Policy:

Failure to comply with this policy may result in disciplinary action for employees.

Engagement of contractors, agency staX, or volunteers may be terminated.

Monitoring and Review

This policy will be reviewed annually or sooner in response to any changes in legislation or regulations.
